THE MOLINO DEL DUQUE originates in Roman times when the village of Manulia (now Manilva) was famous for its sweet muscatel grapes and the healing sulfurous waters of the Roman Baths; still situated a stone’s throw away. The existing mill was built in the early 18th century in a valley still abundant with water.

The flour mill, fully functioning till the 1960’s, belonged to the Larios family, ancestors of the current owner Marina Fernández de Cordoba, and landowners with properties that spanned from Algeciras to Malaga.
Marina’s uncle, Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe, was the first to develop Marbella into what it became, with the creation of the legendary Marbella Club Hotel; a meeting point for the European aristocracy and jet set in the 1960s.

In 1994 Marina moved into the mill with her 2 young children Beltran and Miguel and created ‘Made in Manilva’, a company of exquisite hand painted furniture and objects. Made in Manilva, which has successfully traveled the globe, has recently resettled in Mexico, where Marina continues her artistry in San Miguel de Allende under the new name of Marquesa de Mancera.

Located beneath the picturesque village of Manilva, the property is conveniently well connected via the AP- 7 motorway as follows: Sotogrande: 10 minutes, Gibraltar Airport: 20 minutes, Marbella: 25 minutes, Málaga Airport: 50 minutes. Further, it is equally well connected to the N-340 road along the coast for daily necessities and activities. 3 minute drive from the beach and a 5 minute drive from the luxury golf and spa hotel Finca Cortesin.
